In the Q&A we find out that the game does involve a fridge, in which you grow mouldy food and creatures evolve from the food - you then fight against other players with your creatures, it is nothing like Zombie Dawn, it will be a stand-alone at some point, and before Mod Korpz was married his fridge was filled with living things!

To see & discuss the whole Q&A and view our exclusive Concept Art, click here.

The FunOrb Olympics have now come to a close and the final scores have been tallied. It’s been a tough competition, and some amazing scores have been achieved. The Arcanists tournament inspired some epic battles, and with maps exploding around them, the teams still managed to deliver a flurry of arrows, a rain of fire or the destruction of the universe with 3 super-charged imps. In Armies of Gielinor we witnessed clashes of titanic proportions, as the gods fought one another with demons, dragons and gnomes in strange helicopter devices.

In the end, after the dust settled, a handful of people emerged victorious. A close battle, yes, but the winners were clear.

In the Individual challenge, the bronze medal goes to Sniper Test, the silver to Dmw Da Zohan, and the gold medal ultimately goes to Mr Jovial, who produced some truly awesome scores.

In the Arcanists tournament, the bronze medal has been awarded to ‘We Won’, the silver goes to ‘Dark Magicians Triad’, and the gold was well and truly earned by ‘The M’Ms’, who demonstrated a staggering display of Arcanists skills.

In Armies of Gielinor, the bronze medal goes to ‘Defenders of Gielinor’, who did indeed defend well, the silver goes to ‘Gods of Gielinor’, and finally it was ‘Is That My Ranger Or Yours?’ who took the coveted gold medal.

Each of our winners will receive a collection of prizes, ranging from free membership to sought-after FunOrb goodies.

Now that the Olympics are over, we can sit back, relax, and start to work on the next big event. I hear that a battle is brewing on the forums…

We have added a large number of Achievements to Dungeon Assault, so it’s time to dust off your stable, fortify your defences and raid your way back to the top. Some of the Achievements will require feats of great daring, and others will require a stubborn tenacity in the face of great odds. Do you have what it takes to build a dungeon that will strike terror into the hearts of your fellow raiders? Are you tough enough to steal gold from the most fearsome dragons?

These Achievements add hours of extra challenges to Dungeon Assault, so best of luck and happy raiding!

Hello all,

From the 22nd September we will be increasing the price of FunOrb membership for new subscribers, from £2.00/$3.00 per month, to £3.20/$4.95. These are examples of the credit card prices – all other payment types will be increasing by a similar margin.

If you are an existing member, or you upgrade before the 22nd September, you will continue to pay the current lower price. From 22nd September if you allow your membership to lapse for a period of more than 14 days, or you are a new member, you will then pay the new price of £3.20/$4.95.

FunOrb was launched a year and a half ago, and in that time we have launched a number of large, new games. The service has more than doubled, growing from 18 games at launch to the 38 games currently live, with many more in development. During this time we have developed some great games, pioneered new game engines (such as for our real-time multiplayer titles Kickabout League and Steel Sentinels), introduced new game Achievements, Orb Download content for the website and much more. We feel that FunOrb will continue to provide great value for money at the new price.

We really want to invest even more than we already have to ensure FunOrb’s continued success. The price increase will help us provide you with more great titles, inventive game mechanics, and overall compelling game play.

For our existing members, no price change will be apparent, providing you maintain your membership status. Also if you are not a member, you can subscribe before 22nd September to take advantage of the current lower price on an ongoing basis. So if you have been thinking about joining the FunOrb community as a member, there is no better time to subscribe!

Thanks and have fun,

We’ve seen some awesome feats of strength, amazing bursts of speed, and even a few records broken! So, with the Olympics well underway, and the Armies of Gielinor team competition now over, who will have the stamina to make it all the way to the end?

The AoG competition saw 12 teams compete for the gold medal and the adulation that comes with being the Olympic champions! Three teams finished in joint first: ‘Gods of Gielinor’, ‘Defenders of Gielinor’ and ‘Is That My Ranger Or Yours?’. A grand final was required to determine the overall winner, and with some excellent strategic manoeuvring, ‘Is That My Ranger Or Yours?’ eventually triumphed!

The current standings for the single-player tournament look like this:

 1. Mr Jovial: 148 points
2. Sniper Test: 132 points
3. Dmw Da Zohan: 127 points
4. Sir Tgs: 103 points
5. Zizoz: 99 points

There’s still plenty to play for as we enter the home stretch, so good luck to all competitors!

Our explosive new multiplayer game, Steel Sentinels, has landed on FunOrb. Prepare yourself for battle!

It is your mission to destroy all those who stand in your way, by piloting a sentinel to victory. The sentinels can carry an array of lethal weapons: guns, rockets, missiles, lasers, plasma launchers, lightning beamers and others even more destructive. Heavily armoured and able to withstand devastating levels of punishment, they can also be fast and mobile (with some even capable of flight). They are the ultimate product of a thousand years of armoured warfare and their average life expectancy is 92 seconds!

Piloting a sentinel is not for the faint hearted; battles are fast and frantic, and they will involve you dying (a lot). Each battle will see you re-entering combat with a new sentinel dropped into the warzone, as soon as your current one has been destroyed.

Steel Sentinels offers the following features:

Extensive single player campaign that unlocks a variety of sentinels and equipment (we recommend you play through this as far as possible before embarking on multiplayer);

Up to 12 players can take part in the multiple multiplayer battle modes, which include head-to-head, team games and co-operative play;

12 different sentinels to unlock;

Fully customisable sentinel chassis, with a vast array of weapons and components;

A host of Achievements and in-game ‘tags’ for you to collect.

So hook up your neural link and click here to pilot your way to glory.

Mod Thor & Mod Thomas

This is certainly a great development in FunOrb - the game, from what we’ve seen is an amazing new game - head over to the forums to discuss this update now.

The Armies of Gielinor section of the Olympics may be nearly over, but this week brings the beginning of the Arcanists challenge. The Grand Final for Armies of Gielinor begins on the 12th of August with “Is That My Ranger or Yours” versus the “Defender of Gielinor” and it climaxes on the 14th of August with “Gods of Gielinor” versus “Is That My Ranger or Yours”. A three day long final? Sounds like cricket, but we think this will be much more exciting.

The match schedule for Arcanists has now been added to the Olympic HQ forum thread (quick find code: 39-40-10-30248). It’ll kick off on the 17th of August at 6pm with the “FunOrb Elites” versus “Bob Pets My Cat”, and “Bloody Brothers” versus “The German Team” (thankfully Arcanists can’t be decided with a penalty shoot-out).

If you’ve not managed to join a team for the multiplayer games, don’t panic. You can still be a part of Olympic history by reigning supreme in the single-player games. This week, we’ll be focusing on Vertigo 2 &Bouncedown.
